This is our new and improved model of the traditional Portuguese oven!
This is a great oven, it is covered in cork on the outside, and features a 3 foot high stainless steel chimney!
Brand new, never fired! Includes our heavy duty steel Peel Kit, 56" long, shown in picture.
Imported by us directly from northern Portugal.
The oven is made in the way of traditional Portuguese ovens - cement base, fire resistant terracotta tiles on the floor interlocked with sand, the dome is made from fireclay bricks,covered with rock wool, metal chicken cage, and overlaid with refractory cement.

What is truly unique is that this oven is covered by a patented cork spray. This is a spray created from from 96% of natural cork and 4% of color pigments and other materials. It is manufactured only by 1 company in Spain and we brought in contractors to spray the ovens with this product. The cork adds approx. 30% to insulation and hides all cracks. It is flexible and therefore does not crack when the oven expands and contracts with temperature changes.
We have sprayed the ovens in cream color.
The oven includes a stainless steel chimney 1 meter high and 15 cm diameter (approx. 3 ft by 6"), made from grade 304 stainless steel. You may want to glue the chimney in place with high temperature silicone - it can be easily found at Home Depot.
The chimney is in the front so that when you close the door the entire oven floor is enclosed since the chimney is outside of the door.
The door is now 17" wide and features 2 holes for roasting spits and 2 holes on the back wall (not all the way through of course) - as shown in one of the photos.
The oven is 39.3"x39.3" at the base and internal size is approx. 32" x 30"
The thermometer comes already installed on the door.
It comes securely packaged in crate together with the chimney and the peel kit.

We can arrange delivery to your curbside however from there it is the customer's responsibility to handle the oven - please consider the heavy weight, you will need at least 6-8 guys to lift it manually or a pump truck, forklift, engine hoist, etc.Prior to the first use the oven needs to be "cured" which means running a few small fires a few hours each - we will email you detailed instructions on how to do this. It's a very simple but necessary step designed to eliminate all moisture from the cement covering the oven.
